Can you wash alpaca?
We get asked that a lot! The answer is... YES! A gentle hand wash in tepid water, using a very mild soap, or wool wash. We use BioKleen soap in a basin, and gently agitate with fingers. Rinse and lie flat to dry. That's it! Alpaca doesn't really absorb odor( except maybe smoke or strong cooking smells) and can air out and smell fresh and clean.
You can iron alpaca on a low heat dry iron as well, but hanging an alpaca garment can usually get out the wrinkles!
